Biodegradable Products Institute

Prima Water is the only bottled water and only beverage bottle that has been certified for compostability by the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) for meeting all ASTM guidelines for compostability. The BPI certification is the “gold standard” and only universally respected and recognized certification for proof of packaging or material compostability.

Per those guidelines: In the US: This bottle is designed to be composted in a large scale facility. These do not exist in all communities. Check with your local officials. In Canada: This bottle can be composted in municipal programs, where accepted.
